Description
The primary responsibilities of this position will be to perform cost accounting work covering analysis of material and production costs as well as cost of sales, proposing both initial base pricing and related changes to management and developing standard cost data. Will regularly perform analysis of actual costs to estimates/standards and analyze variances at both the parts and systems levels.
Responsibilities
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions.
- Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
- Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare profit and loss statements, monthly closing, and cost accounting reports.
- Prepare and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents
- Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels, and ensure expenditure control
- Resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Recommend, develop and maintain financial data bases, computer software systems.
- Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits.
- Develop and implement cost accounting system for production assemblies and inventory
- Works with banks and financial institutions on commercial loans and financing/leasing options.
Formal Education & Certification
- College diploma or university degree in the field of Accounting/Finance or related field and/or 4 -6+ years equivalent work experience.
- CPA certification desirable.
Knowledge & Experience
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications.
- Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
- Knowledge of production and inventory based cost accounting systems
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
