Electrical Engineer

The Electrical Engineer is the one who works on a team that designs and develops our high-end desktop computers, servers, and peripherals. They work with circuit boards, power supplies, wiring and other electrical parts to meet project specifications and project deadlines. They will be involved in projects from the concept and detail of the design through to, manufacturing, testing and customer support.

Our organization operates as a cross-functional team in which the electrical engineer is involved at every stage of design and development in collaboration with colleagues in other engineering/design functions, as well as those working in production and after-sales services.

Responsibilities

  • The Electrical Engineer will be involved in the following areas:
  • Analyzing board layout schematics from vendors
  • Work with OEMs to ensure their parts meet our requirements
  • Product prototyping for assembly and test
  • Anticipate and identify customer needs and translate them into design specifications
  • Making models and prototypes of products
  • Recording, analyzing and interpreting test data
  • Qualifying the final product or system
  • Preparing product documentation
  • Monitoring a product in use to improve on future design


Areas of specialization are:

  • Power supply design
  • Computer circuit board layout
  • PC architecture and system integration


Experience/Education

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of related job experience working in the computer industry
